ABOUT – DIANA PATTENDEN
Asked if she can sculpt anything, any size the answer is ‘yes’.
The malleable nature of clay or plasticine is the starting point of all her work. Sometimes this is transformed to bronze at the art foundry. Sometimes her work is cold cast into resin or fired to ceramic in the kiln.
Passion and energy ripple through Diana’s sculptures. She is well known for her highly observed and detailed bronze animals that are seen to distil the essence of a range of emotions be it power, fear, beauty, pride, peacefulness.
Her line in abstract forms and shapes are seductive and intriguing. One of her largest pieces to date is ‘Venus’ a limited-edition bronze resin that can be either traditional bronze or a Verdigris finish
Diana works and teaches from her studio in her garden in her UK hometown of Newbury, Berkshire.
She has exhibited widely and undertaken many commissions.
